Southern Exposure

Virginia Center for Architecture, 2008. Firm: Riggs Ward

The Virginia Center for Architecture curated and hosted the exhibit titled, Southern Exposure: Contemporary Regional Architecture, which highlighted the work of six architectural firms within the American South whose buildings

"draw their rich and imaginative qualities from the designers' alertness to regional factors, such as climate, culture, materials, and available local building trades and techniques."

The system of large scale exhibit graphics was deliberatly limited to four sizes. Section introductions were represented using custom milled maple wall panels, which compliment the exhibit's primary artifacts, the architectural models.
